The Silver Threads are torch-bearers of twang who draw their inspiration from bluegrass, vintage country, early rock, blues and American folk music.  They perform classics, originals, barn-burners, hard shuffles, steel guitar-tinged ballads and banjo breakdowns.

SilverThreads_jon5 Jon Itkin - guitar and vocals
Jon has played in the east and played in the west. He's written a stack of songs and plays lead guitar quietly in his bedroom. As a solo artist, Jon has two records, won an award once, strummed a G chord on Johnny Cash's Gibson jumbo and played a bar gig with David Byrne in the audience.
SilverThreads_ben3 Ben Proctor - guitars, lap steel, banjo and vocals
Ben is an award-winning musician and teacher who got addicted to banjo even though his friends warned him not to try it. He went to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY and stuck around to have children and play as much music as possible. He was a founding member of renowned bluegrass band the Varnish Cooks and also played with The Mount Hope Stringband, Old Divide, the Geneseo Stringband, the Burning Boots and Kate Lee with No Strings Attached.
